This moment

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. Inspired by Soule Mama.

I hope you have a lovely weekend. If you manage to find a few quiet moments, and feel like some simple living inspiration, pop on over to my Inspiring Reads page.

This week I particularly enjoyed Multiple Mum's account of how her Buy Nothing New challenge is starting to influence her entire lifestyle.

Happy Earth’s call for ‘Your top ten fruit trees for urban spaces?’ and the comments that followed provided me with plenty of food for thought.

Rhonda’s post on One small step over at Down to Earth is a must read for those of you who tell yourself that you will live a simple life ‘when’ – ‘when you have more time’, ‘when you own your own home’, or ‘when the children are older’. As Rhonda wisely suggests, “There is always something you can do, even if you're not doing everything you want to. Doing one or two things will start to make a difference in your life.”

Peter Newton’s article on No sustainable population without sustainable consumption’ made me more committed than ever to encourage urban sustainable living. “80 per cent of Australia’s future population growth will need to be accommodated in its cities – especially the capital cities…The challenge is this: how do we wind back resource consumption in high income urban societies such as Australia while maintaining liveability?”
