I have a mental list of all the things I must see in my lifetime. This week, on a trip from Perth to Shark Bay in Western Australia, I managed to tick three things off that list.
The first 'once in a lifetime' sight was the Wreath Lechenaultia in full bloom.
We nearly missed out on spotting this magical plant. After driving for hours we reached our destination just on sunset. A few minutes later and we would have missed it. I was so excited I didn't even stop to put on my shoes and delighted in tip-toeing barefoot through the Wreaths with tears in my eyes.
I'll be back soon to share my second and third 'once in a lifetime' sights.
