Inspiring reads from May 2012
I like looking back on the articles I've listed on my inspiring reads page because they often reflect whats been on my mind. During May I clearly had farming, food and screen time on my mind.
That block of land will finally be ours later this week and my mind has been swarming with dreams.
I'd love to one day have an olive picking party and am hoping we'll be enjoying the benefits of raw milk within a year or two.
A video on a Small Scale Integrated Livestock Farmer had me dreaming of just how much we could produce on our small little farm. Though the reality of both Daddy Eco and I continuing to work almost full time had me returning quickly to much simpler dreams.
A post on Agrarian Grocery Shopping reminded me that I don't have to produce everything myself.
Despite our moving away from urban living, sustainable urban living is something I'm still passionate about, so I enjoyed reading about planting community fruit tree groves, and a whole street of vege gardens.
I'm starting to resent every moment I'm sitting in front of a screen, so these posts on It’s All Too Much, The Big UnPlug, and Now is everything really resonated with me.
I was also happy to pledge a few dollars towards 'I'm fine, Thanks' - a doco about life and the choices we make. I hope this project gets the support it needs.
And wondering about the image above? Little Eco had an opportunity to learn all about albinism this month, with one of her pet guinea pigs having an albino baby.
