I snuck off in my lunch hour yesterday to see Waste as Art...an exhibition of artwork made from rubbish. So much inspiration! Almost any sort rubbish imaginable can be seen recycled into something beautiful and creative...even cigarette butts! One of my favourites was the above picture made from plastic grocery bags and garbage bags.
I took away many ideas for recycling craft for Little eco and I to enjoy...like an orange bag and bottle top hula skirt. Fun!
It’s definitely worth checking out and is on until 25th July at the Newcastle Community Arts Centre, 246 Parry Street, Newcastle West. Entry is free.
I think I'll enter next year...I'm thinking a metal scarecrow for the garden made from recycled materials. Hmmm??. I just need to learn how to weld.
Thought I’d leave you with a wonderful quote...that somehow I hadn’t heard till today.
Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed
(Mahatma) Mohandas Gandhi
